What is your name and what do you do?
Nathan Wright – Social Media Specialist, Photographer
Where are you from and how has being there affected your creativity?
Norfolk, Virginia – I have lots of creative friends who are MUCH more talented than I am. I’ve learned from them and I’m inspired by them regularly!
Explain what initially got you into shooting?
I bought an iPhone haha!
Explain what does an average day look like for you?
I work in Downtown Norfolk coordinating social media for for marketing agency! I like to exercise and take photos with friends. I play basketball as much as I possibly can.
What camera setup do you currently use (camera, lens, other accessories, etc)?
Canon 5d and a 50mm. I have a piano light I plug in for photos sometimes 🙂
What do you specialize in or what do you enjoy shooting the most and why?
I love traveling and taking photos of people in mind-blowing settings. My heart is torn between portraits and landscapes. I don’t care for photos that DON’T have people in them, unless they’re an incredible landscape.
Since we believe that music is the center around all things creative, what are your top 3 music albums, and what about those albums that gets you in a creative zone?
That’s like asking what’s my favorite glass of water I’ve ever had! Three that come to mind are The Beautiful Letdown by Switchfoot, Live at The Banks House by United Pursuit and Live On The Resolution Tour by Matt Corby
Who are some shooters that you follow and what do you admire about their work?
Sam Ciurdar, Luke Rieke, Micah Lindstrom, Benjamin Hardman, Grace McDonald.
What is one tangible piece of advice that you would give somebody who has just started shooting? (besides shooting more)
God created you and nobody is creative without Him. Ask Him to see the world the way He sees it.
Random Question: If you could your entire day watching one TV show, which one would it be?
Lately? LOST. So addicting, man.
What is next for you?
Hopefully? Family and influence.
