There’s a new rapper set to occupy the corner office at G.O.O.D. Music Inc. — his name is Pusha T. The Virginia rapper/ Play Cloths entrepreneur is now president of the Def Jam imprint, Billboard can exclusively report.
The decision was four months in the making, sparked by a phone call from label founder Kanye West. Also joining Push will be his longtime manager, Steven Victor, as A&R. Home to charismatic artists like Q-Tip, Teyana Taylor and Kacy Hill, the house Kanye built is turning G.O.O.D. to better.
For his first order of business, Pusha T phoned Billboard to discuss his new role, his vision for the label and offer an update on his King Push album.
